“Sign Language Typology” series
This series consists of edited volumes and single-authored books in the area of the comparative typological study of sign languages, with one volume appearing every two years. The books are in hard cover, between 200 and 350 pages in length, with a uniform design and an accompanying CD with video clips. The series aims at a wide coverage of the world’s sign languages and establishes sign language typology as a new linguistic sub-discipline at the cutting edge of the research arena. The volumes in the series combine theoretical depth, descriptive breadth and new methodological approaches in the comparative study of sign languages.

“Research Forum” series
The “Research Forum” series is designed to stimulate and catalyse new knowledge about un- and under-described sign languages and deaf communities around the world. The “Research Forum” is neither a conventional journal nor a conventional book series, but combines aspects of both formats. Single-author contributions of between 25 and 60 pages are published together with an accompanying video CD. This format is particularly suitable for early career researchers who are beginning to establish themselves in their research discipline. Ishara Press publishes up to three items per year in this series in paperback with a CD inlay and a uniform design.

The “Signed Lectures” are published on CDs and include, in varying combinations, a number of additional features besides the lecture itself, such as video examples, a powerpoint file of the presentation, a full-text file of the lecture, and the like.
Course materials are multimedia packages including video, print and, if applicable, software components. Course materials are related to one of the following purposes:
- teaching national sign languages as second languages
- teaching literacy in a written language through a sign language as mode of instruction
- teaching other subject matter through sign language as mode of instruction
